Getting Started
You will need:
- An active INTIX account and INTIX Box Office app
- An active Square account and the Square app
Setting up Square with INTIX
Before taking payments with Square and INTIX you must first setup Square with the INTIX Box Office App To do this, follow the steps below:
- Connect your Square account to INTIX
- Login to your INTIX Dashboard
- Hover your mouse over the Settings menu and choose Account
- Go to the Payment Integration tab
- Once here click on Square
- Click the link to authorise transactions by INTIX
- If you are new to Square click the Sign up for Square button. If you already have a Square account click the Sign In button.
- Sign-up/Sign-in to Square If you click the Sign up for Square button, you will be taken directly to the Square Account sign-up page. Here you will need to fill in your new account details. If you have chosen the Sign In button, you will be asked to enter your existing Square account details. Once you've signed up or signed in, you will be taken to a permissions page. Here INTIX will request permission to access your square account. You will need to click "allow" for the integration to work.
- Location Setup Important: If you have not yet configured your locations in Square, click this link if you are located in Australia. After allowing permission, you will be taken to the Square location setup page in INTIX. To configure Square successfully, you will need to choose which Square location is attached to your organisation in INTIX.
Note: You may have connected your Square account but not set up the location in the INTIX console yet. To do so go to ACCOUNT > PAYMENT INTEGRATIONS and in the Square logo you will see Square and Square. Click on the non bold Square and a pop up will ask you to select your location. If you have set the location and need to change it you will see Square and Update Square location and you can click on the update option.
- Setting up your iPad You need to be logged into both the Square app and the INTIX Box Office app on your iPad. This is so that The Box Office can launch the Square app to take payments using your Square reader. Important: You may only take payments from the Square app if you are logged into the correct location for the INTIX organisation you are operating on.
- Connecting your Square chip card reader to your iPad
- Open the Square app on your iPad, select the menu button on the bottom left-hand corner of the app and choose Settings from the sidebar.
- Once in Settings navigate to Card Readers under Hardware.
- Click the Connect a Reader button and choose the reader you would like to pair.
- Follow the remaining instructions on the Square app to get your reader connected.
- Open the Square app on your iPad, select the menu button on the bottom left-hand corner of the app and choose Settings from the sidebar.
Taking Payments with Square
When you choose Card on the payment screen in INTIX, you will be taken to the Square app to process the payment. When the Square payment is successful, you will be returned to INTIX to print the sales receipt.
