Define targeted recipients for your email campaigns and push notifications sent via INTIX.
Audience: This is your organisation's entire user list. These are customers who have purchased tickets or memberships from you via INTIX. This is continually added to with every purchase.
Audience Segments: (Marketing > Audience Segments) These are specific groups of your customers (i.e. Members, Past Members, Sponsors, or all previous ticket holders who subscribe to your list).
You start with two lists in your Audience Segments:
- All Audience Subscribers
- All Current Members
From there you can build your own segments as needed. (i.e. Past Members, Sponsors, Lifetime Members). When you create a New Segment, you choose between a Dynamic or Static list.
Dynamic list
A dynamic list, as the name suggests, is forever changing. This information is drawn from your Audience, as per the filters that you put in place.
- It gets added to with every ticket or membership purchase
- it changes with every "unsubscribe"
You can create different dynamic lists to segment out specific information, and they will automatically update. You can export these lists are needed, to gain an up-to-date snapshot of this Audience Segment. You can send an EDM or Push Notification to individual segments.
If you do not add filter criteria your list will contain your whole database of customers who are opted-in to receive emails from you.
TIP: You can keep your filtered lists very simple by creating filters with only one criterion selected for most campaigns.
Static list
A static list is a .csv file that you upload (maximum 1000 entries at a time). You can add to the list continually, but you cannot edit the information that is in the static list.
- Advantage: This can be a great way to integrate your previous lists into the INTIX system. Once uploaded, you can send EDMs to these lists.
- Disadvantage (compared to dynamic lists): these lists do not update automatically, so any updates need to be done manually by exporting the list, modifying, and re-uploading.
NOTE: Static lists and Dynamic lists don't speak to each other. You cannot import a static list directly into your (dynamic) audience.
To upload a Static list, ensure that the .csv file is formatted correctly:
- No header row (ie. First Name, Last Name Email Address)
- Column A contains: Email address
- Column B contains: First name
- Column C contains: Last name
