After you've completed the Event Wizard set up you may need to add additional ticket types to your event. You might have decided to add VIP tickets to your show, free tickets to a workshop at your expo or you might have partnered with a charity and you need to add a donation option.
To create a new ticket type follow the steps below:
- Log in to your INTIX Dashboard
- Select the Organisation that is running the event you want to add a ticket type to
Note: If you are only authorised for one organisation you will only see one. - Select the Event you want to add a ticket type to
Note: If you are only authorised for one event you will only see one. - Click SET UP > TICKETS
- Click ACTIONS > ADD INVENTORY
You will see six tabs which allow you to add different info for your ticket. Starting with General, work your way through.
Type: Is this a Ticket (paid or free doesn't matter) or a Donation
Group Ticket: If the ticket allows entry for more than one person you can create a Group Ticket which will draw inventory from another ticket when purchased. Eg. a table of 10 for an event can be set up as a Group Ticket and set to draw 10 individual tickets on a purchase, giving each person at the table a ticket.
Ticket Category: Select which category you want this ticket to be shown under. Eg. General Admission or VIP. These must be set up prior to adding ticket types. Click here to see how to create Ticket Categories. If you don't want multiple categories then the Wizards sets up a category 'Tickets' on set up and you can put all ticket types in there.
Title: Name your ticket. Eg. First Release, Second Release, Final Release.
Code: This is optional and is used in reporting. Eg. All General Admission tickets have the code 'GA' regardless of which release they were purchased from.
Order By: This is the order your tickets will appear in on your ticket page. If you leave them at 0 the default order is the order you create them in.
Show Online: You can hide tickets from the general public by ticking 'No'. These would be tickets you only want your staff to sell or tickets that you might not want shown yet, but will show later. Eg. Second Release hidden until First Release is nearly SOLD OUT.
Show On Dashboard: Do you want this ticket type and it's info to show on your INTIX Dashboard. Typically this is 'Yes'.
Show On Box Office: Do you want your staff to be able to sell this ticket type in the back end Box Office? Note that staff with access could issue these tickets types for free if they're in the Box Office.
Show On Front Page: Do you want this ticket type and it's price to show on the main, or Front, page of your ticketing site or do you just want it to show on the second, ticket selection, page?
Minimum Units: What is the least amount of tickets a customer can buy from this ticket type?
Maximum Units: What is the highest amount of tickets a customer can buy from this ticket type?
Note: The system max is 50.
Initial Units: When someone selects this ticket type what is the default number of tickets they will be directed to in the drop down?
Now we can move on to the Pricing tab
Label: This will default to the Ticket Title you entered under the General tab but you can edit it here if you like.
Ticket Price: How much does this ticket type cost?
Rebate: Are you adding a rebate? A rebate is shown as part of the ticket processing fee to the customer but is paid to you, the organiser.
Order By: This is the order your tickets' prices will appear in on your ticket page. If you leave them at 0 the default order is the order you create them in. This is only relevant if you have multiple price points for the one ticket type.
Moving on to the Dates tab
On Sale From: The default is the date and time you are setting the ticket up but if you want First Release to be available for a week and the Second Release to come on you can use the Sale From/Until Times to do that automatically.
On Sale Until: See above. The default date and time is the end of your event but you may want online sales to stop at the start of your event.
Note: The INTIX Scanner app works live with the online sales so you can sell online and scan in real time right through your event if you like!
Ticket Valid On: What date and time do you want your ticket to be valid for? Generally this is the start of your event but for multi day events this might be day specific.
Detail tab
If you think you need to give more detail about a ticket type now is the time to do it! This may include the rules around what is accepted on a Concession ticket or who qualifies as a Child. You might want to note that a VIP ticket include a free cocktail and access to the VIP bar and bathrooms.
You can use the rich text formatting tools to do this in a way that stands out. You can also add images etc if you need.
The Ticket tab is up next
Ticket: 'Custom' will bring up a new section where you can code your own ticket.
'Standard' uses the INTIX template. Your Standard Ticket can be slightly personalised by using a custom theme to edit the banner colour from INTIX green to your choice of colour. You can include your event logo on the Standard Ticket by adding it in the Images section SET UP > EVENT INFO > IMAGES > LOGO.
'No' means you don't want to issue a PDF ticket for this ticket type. Generally this is for donations or merchandise purchases.
Verification: We recommend requiring at least a name on a ticket but name and DOB makes it safer for patrons if you check ID against tickets at the entry for your event.
Ticket Change Fee: Name changes are enabled as a default and you can charge customers that change the name on their ticket by adding a fee here. You will also note the INTIX fee on the left.
Ticket Resale: Do you want to allow resale on this ticket type? Resale is automatically turned on when an event sells out. You can change this at event level in SET UP > EVENT INFO > RESALE.
Ticket Resale Fee: You can charge customers that resell their ticket by adding a fee here. You will also note the INTIX fee on the left.
Ticket Instalments: Do you want to offer Payment Plans for this ticket type?
Note: A ticket must be $100.00 or more to offer Payment Plans
Ticket Instalments Fee: You can charge customers a fee per payment on Instalments if you choose. You will also note the INTIX fee on the left.
Total Ticket Use Limit: How many times all up can this ticket be used?
Uses Per Day: How many times can this ticket be used per day? Eg. You may have a three day event so your Total Ticket Use limit is set to 3 and your Uses Per Day is set to 1, allowing customers to enter the event once on each day.
